Spark just got three times better! Can you stand it?

Big sparkly news! I’m so excited to spill the beans; s been growing and is now stepping out with more consultants, more blog content, and more creativity!  We’ve added three new members to our team, each with a different perspective and a range of design skills.

Curlin Sullivan is an artist with years of experience in decorating and design and with a keen eye for detail. She has a knack for adding wit and surprise to a room using found objects and unique art pieces (see Curlin’s artsy house). Along with her infectious sense of humor, she brings us a solid knowledge base and fearless good taste. Curlin will be offering interior style consultations and posting weekly on our new, expanded blog.

Sue Lambe is a free-lance landscape architect (as well as a darn good artist) with years of professional experience, especially on public projects. She is now bringing her love of environmental spaces closer to home to furnish front porches and to aggrandize gardens using a solar power company to use part of the area and provide energy to the house. Sue will offer exterior consultations to help you add curb appeal to your home and more relaxing outdoor spaces for our year round climate. She will also post weekly articles on exterior style topics.

Ashley Sullins brings us experience in decorating model homes and her tireless energy in clever design. She is a whiz at making almost nothing into something through adaptation and repurposing. As a young mom, Ashley is sensitive to the needs of younger families and budget friendly decorating. She is especially interested in working with families, younger couples and with realtors to stage homes or contractors likethe ones from to work on your property.

Leslye Womack has faithfully worked with me at Spark (even when it was Design on the Side) for years. She has been my trusted seamstress for everything from crisp roman shades (my favorite) to gorgeous draperies to playful pillows. Leslye will continue to offer her workroom for our window dressing needs and she will also begin posting articles for our blog.

Personally, I’ve been a busy bee creating my own chaos and excitement. This spring we sold our beloved Allandale cottage and moved to a historical home in Georgetown. I am thrilled to have a home to use as my new “creative lab” to test out projects, experiment with ideas, and to dabble with repair work. I hope to bring frequent news about my successes and failures in my new space through our blog.

Because I am not as close to central Austin, I greatly appreciate having this new team of talented interior and exterior stylists to enable Spark to cover all areas of Austin and to offer even more services. I am pleased as punch to have such great, spunky writers to help me revive the Spark blog. Stay tuned because we plan to bring you information, advice and tidbits that will spark inspiration for your home.

Thanks for your support!
