Seen Around Town: Georgetown Antique Shopping

Today’s Around Town post (or “pictures from my iPhone” post) brings us to Rough and Ready Antiques off the historic square in Georgetown. I can easily waste a couple of hours treasure hunting in this well organized and reasonably priced antique store. Because I tend to look at everything and get my brain overloaded, I have started snapping quick photos as I go along just to remind myself what I might want to buy. This simple idea lets me “tag” items, think over the purchases and visualize the treasures in my home. I’m shopping smarter with my smart phone!

I found a stack of old suitcases that can be used as a side table or for creative storage. I fell in love with this vintage typewriter just because. I might place it on a bookcase amongst books and collectibles and then use the typewriter table as en end table with a sofa. I sort of hate all office chairs, but I do like antique wooden desk chairs. Finally, I have my eye on this barley twist table for a client to use mixed in with new furniture in her living room. If you’re interested in finding out more about any of these antique finds, let us know. Even better, we can take you on a personal shopping trip to find your own goodies!
