a gift with presence…

My friend (visiting from NYC) and I went to Blue Genie Art Bazaar for Christmas inspiration over the weekend. We were not disappointed! Much beauty, much creativity and many surprises were there waiting for us, all sparkly and bright (a giant slice of cake with a candle on top for $225 – calorie free). The sweet tea cup above was sold as a teeny giclee print (my remembery is saying it was maybe 3″ x4″?) for $25. Beautiful color work.
We loved the work of Austin artist Anne Woods – she is a multitalented phenom: sculptor, interactive designer and landscape designer with a deep love of botanical forms.
Love these forms! I wonder if they could be a door pull – wouldn’t that be fun? Go see her work, and many other local artists, at Blue Genie Art Bazaar.
It’s a great quality show and has everything from the silly to the sublime in all price ranges. All kinds of inspiration and admission is free – what are you doing this afternoon?
