Budget Wise Decorating Tips for 2011

House Beautiful via Budget Wise Home

Flat out confession: Today, I’m poaching my post.

I just stumbled on Budget Wise Home and was delighted by Heidi’s practical but pretty ideas for affordable home decorating. Many of her suggestions are the same ones I’ve been preaching to my clients over the years (use accent pillows for color, mix up old and new, etc.) As I was perusing her blog post I found myself saying “Amen, Sister” and “yes, exactly!” So I’d like to recommend that you pop over to Budget Wise Home to view Heidi’s decorating do’s for 2011.  (And thanks for letting me call in sick today.)

Q & A: Beyond the Box Jewelry Displays

Q & A: Beyond the Box Jewelry Displays

How can I store and display my jewelry so it’s handy but still attractive? Not many gals use a jewelery box anymore because we like to see our options as we race out the door madly accessorizing. More than likely we toss some earrings and bracelets on any available surface in our bedroom or bathroom. [...]

The lovely Propellor Design has gathered them all together to create one-of-a-kind chandeliers.  I must have.  Must have now! Q & A: How to (Finally) Hang Those Pictures

Don’t worry about rigid decorating rules as much as basic guidelines. First, try to group your pictures in a way that makes [...]

Seen Around Town: Vintage Twin Beds

Seen Around Town: Vintage Twin Beds

Because you never know what you’ll find, today I popped into It’s New To Me consignment store on Burnet Road. I saw these vintage twin beds with unique curved headboards. In the less than forgiving store setting, these beds might not look like much, but they have potential. In the right child’s room or guest [...]

Throwing In The Towel

Throwing In The Towel

I’m throwing in the towel on getting my monday post in on time today.   The Marimekko tea towels to be exact.  I had a huge  stretched Marimekko Canvas as the central piece of art in my room growing up.  It was bright and bold and modern and I thought it was over-the-top-cool. And while [...]
