Dine on These Tables: Rustic and Reclaimed
posted by: Misty on March 4th, 2011
Last week, we discussed dining tables in a modern sense. Today, it’s all about the reclaimed woods and rustic finishes. I get all melty over a time worn patina . . . maybe it’s because it seems like there are stories etched on the surface of the furniture. Or maybe the distressed finish takes away the formality of dining and eases the fear of “ruining” the table. Whatever the reason, I love imagining my family and friends circled around one of these beautiful tables.
The Casablanca and Industrial tables are both available at World Interiors, as well as through Furniture in the Raw (outlet). These tables are fairly new and may not be in the showroom yet, but are supposed to reach the warehouse soon.
Although the first three tables featured are locally sourced, we had to stray from Austin to find this unique table from Old Plank Road in Chicago. This company restores European antiques and builds custom furniture. Their selection on their website makes me want to get on a plane right now and walk around touching everything in the store. . . but the good news is that they will ship anywhere.
