Roving Reporter…

As you may have noticed, I haven’t been posting nearly as often in the last weeks. Well, I’m finally able to share why…my family and I are moving to Savannah Ga!

While I’ll be busy finding my new creative center amidst live oaks draped with spanish moss and wonderful historic neighborhoods, my husband will be joining the faculty at Savannah College of Art and Design, my eldest son will be starting his freshman year there and our youngest son will be busy exploring the salt marshes, fishing lagoons and a new school too.

There’s so many things we want to bring with us… we thought we’d cut down to just the essentials, but as we were doing so we found we didn’t really want to get rid of anything. Everything has a valuable memory attached to it. We’re looking into travel trailers for sale as we speak, trying to find one that will fit our needs so we can take all our stuff with us. We’ll get it sorted out soon, I’m just glad we’re not really in any kind of hurry.

I’m hoping to pop in as roving reporter with Spark from time to time.  I will miss Austin terribly and am sad to leave the fun new collaboration with Misty and my other talented sparklers.  We were just getting rolling!

This has to be the biggest perk there is when you ask yourself why you need to consider using bamboo products. Bamboo is a very easily renewable resource, and it doesn’t really take much to grow them. Bamboo products are a better alternative to using any other type of material because of how much there is and how easy it can be procured. Using bamboo products means there will be less need for cutting down what precious amount of trees we have left, and its dominance in the market would mean a lot less illegal logging.

You need to consider using bamboo products because of the many reasons behind why it’s one of the best materials Mother Nature has to provide. For years, bamboo has been used in many structures, materials, utensils, clothing, and aesthetics such as jewelry. Its many uses also extend to the culinary world, where there are dishes that use bamboo or its byproducts.

Bamboo can be used in a ton of ways. You can even be using a product that utilizes bamboo in your home now without knowing it. Bamboo’s been used in jewelry, furniture, houses, buildings, and even clothing. In fact, the possibilities of bamboo uses haven’t been researched in full, so we haven’t even tapped into its 100% potential in usability. There’s a ton of stock of bamboo due to how easy it is to procure them, and the rate of procurement doesn’t look at all like it’s going to slow down. This is why demand for the material is high while the general costs are low. This is the reason why it’s used in many relocation and housing projects by almost every government there is in the world.

It’s easy to transport because the material is light, and it’s easy to use because of its versatility. On top of all that, it makes lovely homes that you won’t even know is made of bamboo. A quick search on images on bamboo houses and you might not even notice that they’re actually made of the stuff.

If you want to live a healthy lifestyle and want to contribute your efforts in order to make this planet a green and healthy place to live, then you should realize the importance of Eco-friendly products. When it comes to Eco-friendly products, then you can never ignore the value of bamboo products. This is the time, when more and more brands are coming up with those products, which are manufactured by using bamboo, as the main raw material.

The products, which we use in our daily routine lives, are being manufactured by using bamboo fiber. The clothes and accessories, manufactured by bamboo would make you feel as if you are wearing clothes, manufactured by silk. Smooth and soft feel of bamboo clothing have become the major reasons, due to which common people have started to wear them in their daily routine lives.

If you will wear these clothes, then you are never going to suffer through any sort of skin allergy. Bamboo fabric is anti-allergenic and mold resistant. It means you and your baby would be highly comfortable and relaxed in these clothes. The best thing about bamboo products is that, you are going to find each and every product, manufactured with bamboo, which you use in your daily routine life.

I plan to carry on our proud Spark tradition… by the seashore…helping new clients create happy nests as time frames and budgets allow.   I’ll have new shops to explore, new vintage to find, new neighborhoods to amble through.  And I’m planning on doing a small remodel the 1935 red brick bungalow we just purchased in a Savannah historic district known as Ardsley Park.

I’d love to share my new project and the before and after results with you from time to time!   I hope you’ll let me know if you’re ever in Savannah.  And I’d love to know if any of you have creative friends you think I should know in my new home.

A huge thanks to Misty Adair for inviting me to join her at Spark.  I’ll miss our creative pow-wows at the galaxy cafe, but will thank my lucky stars for skype and airplanes!

Yours with brown paper packages tied up with string!

Wallpaper For One

Wallpaper For One

There is something wonderful about wallpaper like this. It doesn’t rely on pattern or gorgeous repeat.  It tells a little story in a big way.  It makes me feel like I’ve stepped into one of the luscious images by one of my favorite illustrators.  I’m a character in my own room where a lifesize tale [...]

Crushitecture!

Crushitecture!

28 12 17.  Those are the lottery numbers I would pick today.  The numbers that would win me a giant jackpot.  A jackpot I would use to dial up  Leroy Street Studio (an architecture firm based in nyc) and say, “Get out your drafting boards kids!  Mama wants a new pad.” Enough words.  Pictures say [...]

Throwing In The Towel

Throwing In The Towel

I’m throwing in the towel on getting my monday post in on time today.   The Marimekko tea towels to be exact.  I had a huge  stretched Marimekko Canvas as the central piece of art in my room growing up.  It was bright and bold and modern and I thought it was over-the-top-cool. And while [...]
