Round Top Antique Fair
Spring has sprung and so has the famous Round Top Antique Fair! Go ahead and plan to take a day off next week to truck on down to Round Top for some treasure hunting and pie sampling. The event begins Wednesday March 30 and continues through Saturday April 2 (open 9-5). Look for everything from fine European antiques and imperfect vintage pieces to handmade jewelery and “outsider art” made from found objects. If you love collecting antique items, then you should definitely consider getting antique furniture for your house.
When heading out for a day of flea market shopping, follow the boy scout rule and be prepared. Start early, dress comfortably and bring cash. Bring a basket, tote or granny cart for smaller finds and consider bringing some sort of large capacity vehicle for the must-have furniture discoveries. For a slew of great tips, read over this article from Design Sponge, Flea Market Tips from the Pros.
And by the way, if you plan to do some serious hunting and need a shopping guide, I’m sure that one of our Spark stylists could be persuaded to tag along. We can shop until the cows come home (which in Round Top, they just might).

There is something wonderful about wallpaper like this. It doesn’t rely on pattern or gorgeous repeat. It tells a little story in a big way. It makes me feel like I’ve stepped into one of the luscious images by one of my favorite illustrators. I’m a character in my own room where a lifesize tale [...]

It’s so much fun to read what etsy artists write in their profiles. At her etsy storefront dimdi , the lovely Irene had me at: My name is Irene.I’m an italian artist. I live in a lovely land of Italy where the nature and the animals are the principal richness. I love the animals and nature … [...]

On the wall above the bed, I’d have to start with these…fabric covered horse shoes from Hable Construction. At just $18 a [...]

I’m stuck. I’ve had framed pictures leaning against my wall for weeks because I can’t figure out where or how to hang them in a way that makes sense. What are the rules? Don’t worry about rigid decorating rules as much as basic guidelines. First, try to group your pictures in a way that makes [...]
