13308 Hwy 71 West – Bee Cave, TX
Some people like to methodically scrounge their way around estate sales, garage sales and junk heaps. Those people are called pickers. For the rest of you, reap the rewards of pickers and shop at boutique stores like Revival. Specializing in not-so-shabby chic, Revival hosts a selection of treasures discovered by professional pickers all over the world, from Texas barns to Chinese markets. Iron gates from a French estate, anyone?

Architectural Salvage
The shop features new “old” furniture pieces made from reclaimed materials and custom upholstered furniture, including metal furniture created with post weld heat treatment which allow them to give them the form they want. If you can’t find what you need in house, Revival offers a special order service for more unique furniture and lighting. I fell in love with this over-sized glass front cabinet and the zebra, which I could totally combine with new painting in my room, and the use of Alex Trend Painters services was the best option for this purpose.

French Industrial Cabinet & Custom Upholstered Chair
In addition to wonderful objet d’art, you can find art made from recycled and re-purposed objects like these junk figures. Another artist salvaged bits and pieces from wreckage in places like New Orleans to make one of a kind lamps. Still other artists reuse vintage baubles to make modern jewelry and gifts available at Revival.

Junk People Figures
Revival is worth a visit anytime as the contents of the store are constantly changing with the whims of this picker and that artist. Take a little drive west on highway 71 past the big box stores at 620 and just when you think you’ve run out of town, there’s Revival. They are open Monday through Saturday, but closed on Sundays. Happy hunting!

It’s so much fun to read what etsy artists write in their profiles. At her etsy storefront dimdi , the lovely Irene had me at: My name is Irene.I’m an italian artist. I live in a lovely land of Italy where the nature and the animals are the principal richness. I love the animals and nature … [...]

What a fun way to start my day!!! I’m going to pull together a wonderful colorful guest room in about an hour with the help of some seriously talented furniture makers & designers. On the wall above the bed, I’d have to start with these…fabric covered horse shoes from Hable Construction. At just $18 a [...]

I’m throwing in the towel on getting my monday post in on time today. The Marimekko tea towels to be exact. I had a huge stretched Marimekko Canvas as the central piece of art in my room growing up. It was bright and bold and modern and I thought it was over-the-top-cool. And while [...]

I buzzed into The Great Outdoors on South Congress in Austin last week to swoop up some plants for winter pots out back (fav find was artichokes – so gorgeous with their outsized silvery blue leaves) and found myself in the midst of some serious Christmas cheer. Red wigglers are great to use in no-till [...]

We here at Spark are always discussing fresh ideas for design, color ways, and opportunities to support our clients in making meaningful shifts in their surroundings. At our delicious lunch yesterday (thank you, Blue Star Cafeteria), we talked about the joyful impact of spring flowering bulbs. We love the way they look scattered in drifts [...]

These four women are the lucky recipients of 90 minute design consultations by a duo of our Spark interior and exterior stylists: Lacey Seaton, Phyllis DuBois, Carol Watts, and Denise Cornell. At our recent party, we held a drawing for all attendees. . . then we forgot to do the drawing during the party (uh, [...]
