This is fantastic. You can visit My Tree And Me online and order one of their gorgeous modern geneaology charts and have it customized with your family names. What a simply wonderful idea.

You pick your chart from their site. They send you a form to fill out. You send in your info. And the talented folks from My Tree And Me print a custom chart and send it to you.

With beautiful designs like these, it’s worth claiming some of your wackier relatives…openly and for all to see.

Karen Barbé has stolen my heart. My eyes. My down comforters!! The ethereal duvet cover you see here is made up of her light grey & wasabi tiles screen-printed on white organic cotton sateen. Karen is an oh-so-talented textile designer based in Santiago, Chile. I hope I get to meet her one day. Until then, I’ll have [...]

As we transition from Crazy Hot Summer to Tolerably Warm Fall here in Austin, we tend to burst outside as if surfacing from a deep dive. We gulp in the fresh air and revel in the teeniest cool breeze. It begs the question – how do we bring that gorgeousness inside when we can’t be [...]

I am looking forward to tackling a project when my son starts back to school: I’m hoping to jazz up my home with a new front door.We live on the edge of suburbia and our house is pretty ho-hum from the outside. Nothing at the big box stores looks good to me – thoughts? As [...]

Camping or glamping? My huz and I have been discussing low impact ways to build a vacation home on our sweet little lakeside plot in Maine. We’d like to pitch a tent to get used to the land and its quirks while we do our planning but, between you and me, I do not relish [...]

“Art for Your Eyes!” Local Austin artist Rory Skagen cracks me up with that tag line. His work is retro-humorous and beefy, with a seamy darkness lurking about the edges. He works in 2d and 3d, as well as producing art for interior and exterior spaces – love his versatility. Check out Blue Genie Art [...]

Just adore these original little oil paintings by artist, Tarra Lyons. Her mini artworks are just perfect for adding a twinkle to a bare wall. I would love to see a teeny grouping on a huge expanse of wall for big contrast or one or two hidden inside a guest-room cabinet or even the back [...]

Later that same blog, the color grey is still my current crush. For the final post in this series, take a look at this lovely home. Featured in Canadian House & Home magazine, “Emily Walker, a designer in House & Home’s merchandise department, and her partner, Mark Holden, turned the interior of their rundown, 900-square-foot [...]
