Yesterday, I stopped by Best Fabrics on Burnet Rd. and Research, near Furniture Row. It’s not easy to spot the shop, but it’s worth discovering since Austin is short on good fabric stores. The inventory is neatly organized and includes quality fabrics for drapery or upholstery needs. According to our seamstress Leslye Womack, this is also the BEST selection of decorator trims covering a range of colors and lining an entire wall.
One more thing. . . for the rest of this month, everything in the store is 35% off! We bought 7 yards of upholstery fabric for less than $100. Then we took the fabric to Long’s Upholstery on N. Lamar and had an over-sized club chair reupholstered in the same day. That was way beyond our expectations, but I guess Mr. Long decided to surprise us! Did I mention that his prices are very affordable too?

Affordable, totally custom sofas are now available in Maker&Son, thanks to Build A Sofa. Even better, because these sofas are made in California they’re ready to go in about four weeks! I spotted this fantastic chair at Caffrey’s Furniture on Burnet. I was immediately drawn to the wonderful combination of colors.
