Column of Wreaths from Martha Stewart

Tis’ the weekend to start decorating for Christmas if you haven’t already done so, like me. Really, I’m in shock that it’s only three weeks until the big day. So far I have three pine trees, 150 feet of evergreen garland, four boxes of decorations and a partridge in a pear tree. Scratch that. But I do have two handmade fresh wreaths, one round and one square, made by my dear mom. If you can’t get your hands (they’ll get sticky) on a live wreath, then consider some of these creative options for wreaths that are not-real . . . in a good way.

Burlap Wreath from Tatertots and Jello

This folksy casual wreath is made from circles of burlap and brightly colored fabric scraps. It requires cutting lots of circles and using a glue gun, but that’s easy peasy (and cheap)! You can customize this a million different was starting with the tutorial from Tatertots and Jello.

Felt Ball Wreath from Pickles

This crafted wreath made from felted balls (should I giggle when I say that?) certainly adds color and warmth. According to Pickles, it can me made with a little time and care.  I wonder if it would be possible to cheat on this idea by gluing lots of those pom-poms from ball fringe all over a foam wreath base? Yarn Wreath on Etsy

For those of us who have neither time nor crafty skills, Etsy swoops to the rescue. I’m liking these colorful yarn wreaths from Anna Hailey and these crazy clustered vintage wreaths, too.  Honey Canada has a grapevine wreath with felted balls and DodadChick has a cozy wreath made of felted sweaters. If you prefer an earthy modern look, then the West Elm faux moss wreath might be just the thing.
